The usefulness of the bio bucket

An airtight container is useful for the conservation of bio-waste between two feedings of the compost box.

Fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds, tea, flowers and plants are good materials to start composting. On the other hand, it is better to avoid meat, dairy products, bones, fish edges, fats and foods cooked with fat, meat, dairy products.

After sorting what composts and what does not, it is advisable to cut the waste into small pieces because composting is faster and more complete.

After cutting food waste into small pieces, it is stored in an airtight container, to prevent insects from laying their eggs in it. It is also possible to store them in the refrigerator in order to avoid bad smells in summer.

This hermetic preservation box is called here a bio seal.

It is recommended to feed the compost with waste by pouring the contents of the bio seal once (or twice) a week.

If the daily weight of waste is 500 grams or more, then the intake can be done every day. Indeed, in this case, the cardboard is of sufficient size to dig a hole in it at a different location every day.
